Germs are everywhere, but your Harmony remote can be made safer.....
Before cleaning your remote, it is always best to power it off. This is especially true of the controllers that have touch screens. So, for those units that have removable batteries, they should be removed. Units that have non-removable batteries, like the Elite, can be powered-off by pressing and holding the Off button until the LCD turns off. Once powered-down, you can use a 70 percent isopropyl alcohol wipe or Clorox disinfecting wipe, and gently wipe the hard, nonporous surfaces of your Harmony remote, such as the display and buttons. Do not use bleach. Avoid getting moisture in any opening, and don’t submerge your Harmony remote in any cleaning agents. If your remote has a ‘soft touch’ back cover (Harmony One, 900, 1000, 1100), using disinfecting wipes (with or without alcohol) may cause this material to degrade, so use sparingly and wipe off immediately. Note that any remote that is sent to us for repair is always thoroughly cleaned and disinfected as part of our normal, regular repair service.
