Calibrate your Harmony 1000 or 1100 Touch SCreen

How to Calibrate your Harmony 1100 (or Harmony 1000) Touch Screen
After performing an LCD replacement on the Harmony 1000 or 1100, it is important to run the Calibration Routine so that the main processor is synchronized with the new digitizer (aka 'touch screen'). This is especially important if the original digitizer was physically damaged or was fully or partially unresponsive. The procedure is as follows:
  • Remove the battery and wait 30 seconds.
  • Hold down the Off button at the top of the remote and re-insert the battery. Continue holding down the Off button until the screen lights up with the words Safe Mode in red.
  • Remove the battery and count to 3.
  • Re-insert the battery normally, without pressing the Off button.

This will start the Calibration Routine. On the 1100, you will need to press and hold small targets until they move to the next test point. On the Harmony 1000, you press the target, release, and then move on to the next target.  A stylus or other precise, thin probe should be used in order to provide the best information to the processor.
