The battery spring contact pins are very delicate on the Harmony 1100 and the pins can easily break or be bent at the wrong angle (they should be pointing downwards, not up). If the right or left-most pins are damaged, the 1100 will not be able to power-on with the battery. If the middle pin is damaged, the remote will not charge the battery. We  remove the entire power-block and install a new one.  Please note: There are other reasons that the 1100 will not power-on that are not related to the condition of the power-block even if the pins are damaged!  Before you order this repair, verify that the pins are visually damaged (send us a picture if you are not sure). Also, do the following procedure to make sure that your H1100 can power-on and boot-up successfully in the charging cradle: 

  1. Remove the battery
  2. Without the battery, place the 1100 into the charging cradle and make sure that the light on the cradle goes on.This indicates that the remote is making good contact with the charging pads.
  3. Does the Activity Light on the 1100 flash twice? Does the screen light up and does the remote boot-up and display the Activity Menu? If yes, then order this repair if the battery spring contacts appear damaged. On the other hand, if the remote does not boot-up or power-on correctly after doing this test, there are deeper issues than the power-block, so do not order this repair and please contact us for troubleshooting advice.
